Wednesday 5 June 2013

The petals sprawl from the time before

dampened as they cling to the floor.

Re-arranged and put in place

the crimson red shies until the next day wakes.

Come home

The clock falls on midnight
as I sit and watch, the fingers join.
Wait for the key to sound in the lock
and see your face, warm and alive.

Supper from the meal before, waits for you
as it always did on the kitchen marble.
Left cold and untouched.

I see your face smiling, inspiring, like nobody else
I sit and wait up alone
longing to see you again.
