Chapter 2: Hong Kong

She stood in line and handed over her scarcely stamped passport. Each step closer to the aeroplane was a shuffle nearer to the dawning of realisation.  Scanning the crowd of fellow passengers she wondered what purpose they each had for their journey, and where their final destination may be.  A racing mind and agitated frame confined to the narrow seat, buckling in her wired alertness.  Her eyes glued to the moving picture, entranced by the muted chattering jaws.  Her headset plugged in but the sound fades, her thoughts are somewhere else.  Peeling back the foil on the breakfast tray beef casserole wafts through the cabin.  Morning had suddenly shifted to afternoon, sand escaping through the pinpoint of time.
