Cherish the gold

We sit side by side
perched on the tilting mattress
smiling in reflection
poignancy present.

Hand on hand
palms outstretched
like a void of time,
unslipped.

Nostalgia shimmers in its familiar air
producing the coin purse
unfilled, so rich
with care, thought.

Spilling over from its zipper
you had capitalised my name
just in case

It fell into danger or lost its way
it would make it back to safety again.
