Singapore Slinging

Gillian and I decided a long weekend jaunt to Singapore would be just the ticket to break up the working routine, and before I knew it the time was upon us.  Suppose its the equivalent of nipping over to Paris or Milan for the weekend but it seemed strange to us that it was possible for us to head off on a 'mini break' to somewhere so far flung.  The weekend was hilarity from start to finish, we stayed with a friend of a friend called Paul who showed us a top time in Singerz.  We went to the home of the Singapore Sling, Raffles to sample the original, had a mooch along the many glitzy designer shops on Orchard Road, and went to an amazing club called 'Zouk'.  The interior was like an igloo which divided the different rooms.  The tunes were spot on and we had the time of our lives :)

The next day we went to 'Little India' a total contrast to the shiny unmarked pavements of Orchard Road.  I definitely preferred this area though, there was so much going on, so much that I wanted to absorb.  We dined at a local restaurant and loved the fact that the food was served on banana leaves.  Great call for no restrictions on portion control!   Afterwards we went over to Sentosa Island and took in one final Singapore sunset before heading back to the HK hustle.

Works for me...
